I had a fantastic experience working with Ferentino Design & Build -Danny and his team. From the start, I came to him with renderings I created myself of how I wanted my space to look. I was so impressed that they were able to take my designs and bring them to life exactly as I envisioned.

The quality of Ferentino Design & Build work was excellent, and if there was ever anything I wasn’t 100% happy with, they came back and fixed it without hesitation. Danny himself was a pleasure to work with—he’s honest, reasonable, and truly stands behind his work. That integrity was the most important thing to me.

I got multiple quotes from other contractors before choosing Ferentino Design & Build. I noticed that many of them would try to scale down the amount of work they offered to fit my budget, but Danny was different. With Ferentino Design & Build ,I was able to accomplish all of the projects I needed—and even add a few extra touches—while still staying within my original budget.

For example, we transformed my kitchen and expanded into the garage to create a new pantry and entryway. I’ll be sharing before-and-after photos to show how incredible the transformation has been. I loved that I could bring my own design ideas to the table and that Danny’s team was able to execute them so well. For example, my floors are beautiful. I love what a great job the floor guy did- the attention to detail and the color I wanted is spot on .

Overall, I’m thrilled with the results and so glad I chose Ferentino Design & Build for this project. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a contractor who is talented, honest, and easy to work with.

Ferentino Design & Builds just completed the project of my dreams! They renovated my kitchen, put in new floors, painted the whole interior, and installed new light fixtures throughout! Danny and his crews were the most professional craftsmen I have ever seen. They treated my home and possessions with the utmost care! Danny’s communication was superb! I was never left wondering what was going to happen next. When I called or texted with a question, it was answered very quickly. I highly recommend Danny and Ferentino Design & Builds!

Danny and his crew are the best! Highly recommend him. He came in to finish our basement, and am so pleased and happy with the results. The finishes were impeccable. But what I appreciate most is that he was very responsive to any of my questions and/or concerns. I would definitely choose his design firm again. That is the true testament to his work.

Ferentino Design & Build did an amazing job turning my wife and I’s new house into a soon to be home. They provided fast yet quality work and above all else are trustworthy, which is a difficult quality to find these days. The owner is a very respectful Godly man and was a pleasure to work with. If I could give 100 stars I would.

Remodeling Lawrenceville Homes

The median Lawrenceville home was built in 1988, according to the U.S. Census Bureau, about a decade older than the typical home in Winder or Buford. Houses of that age often still have their first bathrooms, closets sized for a different era and a kitchen that has only had surface updates. Layout is usually the real problem, not just the finishes, so we start by asking how the room should work and design from there. If the house has an unfinished lower level, finishing the basement can add room without changing the footprint.

Bathroom, Kitchen and Basement Remodeling in Lawrenceville

Bathroom Remodeling in Lawrenceville

Many Lawrenceville master suites were built with a large tub and a small closet, and a lot of homeowners now want the opposite. See our page on bathroom remodeling in Lawrenceville for what that involves, including the master bath and closet we rebuilt here.

Kitchen Remodeling in Lawrenceville

In a late-1980s floor plan, the kitchen is often closed off from the family room. Before we quote opening it up, we check whether the wall is load-bearing, because changing a load-bearing wall counts as structural work under the city’s rules. New cabinets, counters and appliances in the same layout are a simpler job. See what a kitchen remodel includes.

Basement Finishing in Lawrenceville

A finished lower level can become a media room, a guest suite or space for a relative moving in. Any bedroom needs a code-compliant egress window, so we plan that from the start. Read about basement finishing.

Remodeling Permits in Lawrenceville

Inside city limits, the City of Lawrenceville Planning & Development Department issues building permits, and applications go through its online Licensing, Permits and Plans portal. The city requires a permit for room additions, interior remodeling and changes to electrical, mechanical, plumbing or structural work, and says plan review typically takes three to ten business days. Replacing cabinets, flooring or paint may not need one, though the city asks you to check first. Homes with a Lawrenceville address outside city limits go through Gwinnett County Planning & Development instead. We confirm which office applies, pull the permit and schedule the inspections on every project.

Neighborhoods We Serve

We work with homeowners across Lawrenceville, including the historic downtown around the Gwinnett Historic Courthouse and the neighborhoods farther out in the city.

Also Serving

We also serve nearby Dacula, Buford and Duluth.

Home Renovation FAQs

Have questions about renovating your home? We’re here to help and happy to walk you through design choices, timelines, and budget.

Who issues remodeling permits in Lawrenceville?

Inside city limits, the City of Lawrenceville Planning & Development Department. Outside city limits, Gwinnett County Planning & Development. A Lawrenceville mailing address doesn’t always mean the home is inside the city, so we check first.

Do I need a permit to replace cabinets or flooring in Lawrenceville?

Often not. The city says replacing cabinets, flooring, windows or doors without altering the structure may not need a building permit, but it asks you to check with Planning & Development. Electrical, plumbing, HVAC or structural work does need one.

Can a contractor get the permit for me?

Yes. The city issues permits to a homeowner with a signed affidavit or to the licensed contractor doing the job. We apply for the permit and schedule the inspections on your project.

How long does a full home renovation take?

The duration of a full home renovation can vary, typically taking 2–6 months based on the scope of work and material selections. We provide a detailed timeline upfront to ensure clarity and avoid surprises.
